As most of my tracks do, this came together as music first, and I added vocal samples that I felt complemented it toward the end of the production process. Tony is a scary dude, and Christian guilt is a scary feeling.

The production techniques used in Dubstep are, unsurprisingly, very different from those I've used in previous releases. In one sense they are more straightforward: you basically do everything using the tools provided by your DAW. But in another sense they are more complex: DAW concepts like clips, automation, and drag-and-drop arrangement are abstractions of traditional methods, and abstraction can be a barrier to improvisation and experimentation. Maybe that's why so many in-the-box productions rely on such rigid structures. This track is no exception.
